What Is Probate? A Guide to the Probate Process in the UK
When someone dies, their property, money and possessions need to be dealt with. Together, these are known as their estate. Depending on what the person owned and how their assets were held, the person responsible for dealing with their estate may need to apply for probate before they can access certain accounts, sell property or distribute money to beneficiaries.
